Howdy! My name is Andrew Bequette, graduate of 国产情色's stellar School of Business and Admissions Counselor to the regions of Central and West Texas.
What drew you to serve at 国产情色, and how do you see God working in the lives of students here?
I was originally drawn to LETU because of the depth of its community and the level of intentionality with integrating faith and vocation, no matter the major of study. From my own experience as a student, and what I hear from current students, professors daily encourage and equip students with the knowledge of how they can let their faith guide their steps and shine in their chosen vocations from their own years of experience as Christians in those fields. The STEM field is a notoriously secular field of work and LETU is the solution.
What do you love most about walking alongside students as they discover their calling and prepare for the future?
What I enjoy most about working with families and students through our enrollment journey is the connections and relationships that are built through it. We here in Admissions are your first and best resource for anything related to LETU, so please utilize us. We want nothing more than your success and, most importantly, to help you find where God has called you to be in your college decision process and to help you get there, no matter the destination.
How has your own college or faith journey shaped the way you guide students today?
As someone who has gone through this very process and has experienced all that LETU has to offer, I love getting to share my experience as a LETU student/grad. LETU has uniquely shaped my journey into adulthood, marriage, and fatherhood by seeking to grow me mentally and spiritually into a level of maturity that is ready to take on the challenges presented post-graduation.
What advice would you give a student who is nervous about stepping into this next season of life?
For any student who is nervous to step into your college journey, my advice would be to ask for help from your team in Admissions. Chances are, especially in my case, we were right there in the same scenario years ago and have felt much of the same worries. In addition to our own experience, our seasoned team of Admissions Counselors have helped many other students through this very journey more times than we can count. Our primary goal is to help guide you through this journey, to lead you to success, and to fulfill God's calling in your life. Lean into your team here, you'll always find joyful help waiting for you!
In your view, what makes the LeTourneau community special, and why should students feel excited about joining it?
There is great reward waiting for you here in the LETU community! Our students have such deep and interconnecting bonds that leave me amazed any time I hear about their floor activities, the friends that are being made, and the positive experiences shared across campus. LETU is a place where you can find your people: lifelong friends, spiritual mentors, and a host of faculty/staff that are eager to pour into your life and watch as you find success in building the kingdom of God. There is something unique happening here in East Texas, the LORD is definitely at work in this institution and the people here. We'd love for you to be a part of it!
