Dr. Alan Clipperton was invited to ¹ú²úÇéÉ« in 2012 with the goal of making ¹ú²úÇéÉ« a “university of global influence.” Before coming to ¹ú²úÇéÉ«, Dr. Clipperton previously served at Northern State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato. In his role as Vice President of Global Initiatives & Industry Engagement, Dr. Clipperton heads all international activities including student recruitment, immigration, program development, retention, study abroad, institutional partnerships, and global service learning. Additionally, he works with industry and across academic departments to generate innovative partnerships that benefit the Longview community and ¹ú²úÇéÉ«.
Dr. Clipperton has founded or co-founded three different independent companies over the last five years across different industries. His diverse education and experiences have motivated him to explore innovation and entrepreneurship in the education sector. This has led to many successful ¹ú²úÇéÉ« programs and initiatives both in the US and abroad.
In his spare time, Dr. Clipperton enjoys restoring classic cars and spending time with his wife, Angela, and their three kids (Lydia, Ezra, and Jonah).
